OEVA sponsors/organizes events like Cruisin’ on Dearborn, Englewood Fine Arts & Crafts Festival, Halloween Safe Walk, and Christmas Walk and Parade. Email Newsletter
We use a third party newsletter component on our website to manage our email subscribers and to send email newsletters.
When you subscribe to our email newsletter, we collect information from you including your email address (which you enter voluntarily), your IP address and location information such as time zone, latitude and longitude, country, and region.
Besides sending our newsletters to people who subscribed, we may also send marketing emails to other groups of people such as OEVA members, artists who participate in our Arts Festival and local businesses either because a legitimate interest exists or to fulfil a public task.
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter anytime by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or through your OEVA website user account.
Website Accounts
Subscribing to our newsletters or a paid membership will create a user account on our website. The website stores your username, name, email address and password (hashed).
When logging in or adding an event, the website places cookies on your computer (see below).
When you post an event, any information entered may become public. You can remove your events anytime through the by logging in to the website then editing your event on the Member Menu.
Form Submissions
The information we collect from these forms consists of all the information you enter and your IP address. We use the information to process your submission (e.g. registrations).
We may hold on to your information until we receive a request for erasure, at which point we will delete or anonymize your information. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Memberships
The website stores a list of all members including business name (public), website address (public), ad graphic (public) and email address (only for internal use).
Media
Images may include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). If you upload images to the website or provide OEVA with images to upload, the image becomes publicly accessible. It is your responsibility to remove any location data from your image(s), should you desire to do so, prior to uploading.
Other 3rd Party Providers that Store and Process Your Data
- Our website is hosted through SiteGround (SG Hosting Inc.). The data you provide in form submissions as well as your IP address will be stored in the website’s database in order to allow us to process your request. Furthermore, SiteGround holds a server log of all website visits to help with security and diagnostics. The server log contains the visitor’s IP address but no information like name, phone number or email address.
- We use PayPal for online payment processing (e.g. Membership Fees, Arts Festival Fees). Our website may send some of the information collected in the registration/renewal forms to PayPal. Furthermore, PayPal collects, processes and stores your payment information and but does not give us access to your credit/debit card number or bank account. Google Analytics
This website ( Visit Website ) is like millions of other websites using Google Analytics to gather information about site visitors and their behavior. We use Google Analytics to get an idea for:
- how many visit our website gets
- how visitors found our website
- in which content they are interested
- how long they stay on our website and on each individual page
- what region they are from
- what type of computer hardware and internet software they are using
- and similar details
However, we do not send any additional personally identifiable information to Google Analytics and we do not merge submitted personal information through forms on our website with data from Google Analytics. The collected information is used only for statistics, which help us evaluate our website’s performance. User-level and event-level data stored by Google Analytics is set to be automatically deleted from Google’s servers after 26 months.
Furthermore, to protect our visitors’ privacy we request that Google anonymize each visitor’s IP address.

Facebook Comments Plugin
Below each of our events and news articles, we offer the ability for you to write and publish a comment. Any entered information will be public. This feature is provided by Facebook and requires you to be logged into your Facebook account. Besides your comment, your Facebook profile photo, your name and other information such as your job title and employer’s name might be displayed. Any data entered is not stored by our website but by Facebook. You can remove your comments any time by clicking on your comment, clicking on the dropdown arrow and then clicking on “Delete Comment”.
To prevent Facebook from knowing your identify when visiting a page with a comment form, please log out of your Facebook account prior to visiting one of these pages.

Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website.
You can delete or disable cookies by using your browser. In Chrome you can delete your cookies by clicking on the three vertical dots in the top right corner, and then clicking on “More tools” and then on “Clear browsing data…”. The operation is similar in other browsers, such as Edge or Firefox.

The Facebook Comments Plugin (see description above) stores 3rd party cookies on each visitor’s computer when visiting an events page or news article with a comment form.

Content Hosted by Third Parties
We may embed content on our website from third parties such as Google Maps. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
However, since this embedded content is not hosted by our web host, we do not have control of the cookies they use or what personal information they collect. Our Privacy Policy does not apply to them. Please see the third parties’ privacy policies for more information.

Please also contact us via email by using the form below with any complaints regarding your personal data. We will take your complaint seriously, investigate it and take necessary measures where applicable. This does not affect your right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
